One of the top priorities of the health system in Iran is the prevention and control of chronic non-communicable diseases and encountering with which requires national determination and public attempt. 59 % of all mortality in the world and 46 % of disease burden involves non-communicable disease and statistics indicate that these percentages are increasing. In Iran due to the fact that there is great attention and sensitivity toward prevention programs in the health system, the program for prevention and control of non-communicable disease launched after the establishment of the organization of fighting and prevention of non-communicable disease in 1991 and a lot of effective measures have been taken.The non-communicable disease group aims at lowering the disease burden by means of planning to improve the lifestyles and controlling the causes of coming down with non-communicable disease. In addition it aims at controlling of non-communicable disease by in time and principled screening in that early diagnosing of these illnesses can prevent irrevocable effects and damages.
